Jefferson Smurfit, Jacksonville, FL
In 1992, this large corrugated box manufacturing plant required structural restoration when a two million gallon storage tank, containing a highly corrosive pulping by-product, ruptured. Supervision of the remediation efforts included suction evacuation, excavation, containerization and disposal of all affected ground surfaces adjacent to the plant. Installed and monitored ground water stations, sampling, reporting and clearance documentation for EPA and Florida regulatory officials.
